Melbourne, Australia – Chloe’s Addiction

This Australian fashionista definitely has that bad ass glam look down pat. And aside from the look I’ll share with you today, Chloe Ting posts a collection of her personal outfits to her blog, Chloe’s Addiction, that really do scream rebel chic.

Now let’s get down to the knitty gritty…

LB: Tell us about your style inspiration.

CT: Most of my style inspirations comes from other fellow online bloggers and fashionistas from Lookbook.nu. I’m lucky to live in the vibrant city of Melbourne where I can get tons of style inspiration from the streets of the city.

LB: Do you have a style icon?

CT: I don’t have one particular style icon, as there are just too many icons out there in the world of fashion. I guess I am more into styles that make a statement and are more bold.

LB: How does fashion play a role in your life?

CT: Well for a start, my fashion blog has made a significant impact on my life thus far. It’s allowed me to come out of my shell a little in regards to my own personal style, and has given me the opportunity to reach out and connect with other bloggers and readers.

LB: What would you say is your essential wardrobe item?

CT: A girl can never have enough shoes! I think shoes or accessories make an essential wardrobe item for any girl to add more character to an outfit. Just be cautious not to over do it!

LB: Do you have an style tips for those looking to try something new?

CT: Personally I love to be bold and try new styles so don’t ever limit yourself. Try on new colours that you don’t have in your wardrobe or clothing items that you don’t have. Be open to trying new things and changing it up and you will soon discover what works for you and what doesn’t. As long as your wearing something your comfortable with, it’s all a self discovery process!

LB: Do you have a favourite “trend” or frequent of the moment?

CT: I tend to be loving the more grungy look these days and I’m loving studs and spikes. I recently DIY’ed a denim jacket so do check it out on my blog if your interested.

LB: What else don’t we know about you?!

CT: I’m originally from Brunei (most people don’t know where it is and have to Google it), I work the the financial service industry (total opposite from my blog), I can get really addicted to video games (I was a total WoW nerd), and I have 11 fingers. One of these statements is not true.

And I’ll leave it up to all of you to guess which one is not true…just for fun!

But what is Chloe wearing?

Top and Shorts – Motel Rocks

Boots – Jeffrey Campbell

Bag – Romwe

Jacket – Choies

Bracelet – Ziba Collection

Paperdoll – Winnipeg, MB

This post isn’t just on a girl with great fashion sense. She has a crazy lifestyle with two jobs as a flight attendant and boutique business owner, and she still finds time to style herself flawlessly. Alongside her sister and her best friend, Sarah is a co-owner of the trendy Winnipeg boutique Paperdoll Clothing.

It’s a hectic life, but you just do it cause you love it that much”

The three of them often find inspiration for the store and their personal styles from publications such as Vogue, InStyle, and other European fashion magazines. But beyond that Sarah adores the style of actress, socialite, and model, Olivia Palermo — where many of us may remember her from the MTV series, The City (with my girl Whitney Port <3) — because of her amazing eye for style, and mixing and matching prints. Watch the video to find out who else Sarah calls her fashion icon.

What is Sarah wearing in the vid that you can pickup at Paperdoll Clothing?

Black seamless tights, House of Harlow 1960 Hexagon Ring, chunky chain necklace, & zodiac sign necklace.

So if you live in Winnipeg or are ever in town for a bit, I strongly suggest you take the time to shop at Paperdoll Clothing to pick up something fun and unique.

Hats & Big Bling

I’ve said it many times, but I’ll say it again…it’s all about the hats! And when it comes to coming up with new outfits to style with a hat, I find myself looking to Virgit’s LOOKBOOK – who you’ve hopefully seen photographed on Stratamode a couple weeks past. She just does hats so well.

More than anything I loved Virgit’s entire outfit and how she made a chunky knit jumper look all-so-cute with a fluttery skater skirt. The oxblood colour of her sweater and lipstick looked incredible against the teal and blue colours of her skirt. Although I searched high and low to find something almost identical to that skirt, I found something flirty that was close enough to imitate.

Preppy Fashionist

Seeing Virgit’s ostrich leather purse was such a throw back to my memories of the Italian leather market this summer in Florence. I saw ostrich leather bags in every colour, shape, and size, all as beautiful as the next. If I could do it over, I would have purchased 20 handbags just to ship them back to Canada to give to all my friends…and of course keep some for myself! There’s just something sweet and luxurious about Italian leather.

But if what you’re looking for is that gorgeous bling, you MUST treat yourself to an online order from ASOS or DANNIJO. While DANNIJO may be a bit higher on the $$$$ scale, ASOS is an amazing affordable alternative with a fabulous selection.

I also suggest you head over to Virgit’s blog, Preppy Fashionist, to checkout more of her digs.

Platform Paradise

The moment I fell in love with sneaker platforms was the moment I saw Robyn perform “Call Your Girlfriend” at the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival in Tennessee. And after seeing this babe Morgan rockin’ out in her platform sneaks, all that love just came rushing back to me.

I saw Swedish homegirls wearing these kind of digs when I was in Stockholm this summer, and I myself, have been on the hunt for the perfect pair of platforms ever since. All in all, the options in Europe are vastly better because of their fabulous retailers River Island, Topshop, and Office. And the brand that takes the cake — more often than not — for the most fabulous selection of platform sneakers is Jeffrey Campbell. But I’m sad to say I still haven’t found my perfect match.

But some things I love almost as most of Jeffrey Campbell’s are round sunglasses, mesh, skater skirts, and over the knee stockings.

For those of you wanting to take a new risk, or add some new pieces to your already daring wardrobe, check out this Polyvore for some inspiration on how to get Morgan’s look.
